ESTONIAN DRYLAND CUP 2026
ESTONIAN FIRST SLEDDOG RACE SERIE
Regulations
In case of mistranslation the Estonian Version of rules will be used. All times are local.

Race
- Estonian Dryland Cup is Estonian sleddogs sprint race serie.
- Stages will be held according to the IFSS Race rules and EDC regulations. In case of differences, EDC regulations have priority.
- The aim is to popularise sleddog sport.
- Calendar plan
- Season awarding will take place on October 10, 2026 at Palivere after stage awarding.

Trails
- In each stage, race trail and children trail will be opened.
- The race trail can be different for competition classes.
- The length of the race trail is generally 3.5-5 kilometres.
- The length of the children's trail is generally 0.4-0.8 kilometre.

In race and children's trail, following classes will be distinguish

Cart classes
- DR4 – cart three or four dogs

Bike classes
- DBM – bikejoring one dog (men)
- DBW – bikejoring one dog (women)
- DS1O – scooter one dog
- DS1R – scooter one dog nordic breed
- DS2 – scooter one or two dog

Running classes
- DCM – canicross one dog (men)
- DCW – canicross one dog (women)
- DCJ – canicross one dog (junior, age 12 – 18)

Classes for non-competitors
- FUN – class for beginners, allowed classes DB, DS, DC.

Children classes
- DCK – without timekeeping children canicross one dog (age 3 – 11y.)

Cart classes
- Race classes will not be splitted.
- In case of low participation (less than 8 participants in both classes), classes DCM, DCW and DCJ; DS1O and DS1R; DBM and DBW can be merged by organiser decicion. (DC; DS1; DB).

Programme
- Schedule is available on stage info site.

During accreditaion it is possible:
- To take race materials (once per season)
- To take a new number in case of old lost
- To take timing chip if the timing is with chips.
- You can explore the trail at a reasonable pace. You can explore the trail with your dog only by foot.
- Participation in race briefing is strongly recommended.

Starts
- The starting sequence is random
- Mostly the separate starts will be used, however when decided by the organiser, mass starts might be given for selected race classes.
- Beginner level participant who is participated in less than 3 EDC-s and submitted request on registration, will be assigned to start in the end of starting group and when needed with increased starting interval.
- Award ceremony is after starts as said in schedule.

Participation fees
- Starting fee contains participant medal (one per participant, guaranteed only if registered before March 5. When registering later, the medal will be given at least on the last stage of season), marked trail, one bib number for full season, timing (except children distances), best participants awarding with diplomas and online-diploma if finished correctly.
- Virtual race starting fee contains result when finished correctly and online-diploma if finished correctly.
- Registration for the stage will end on last Wednesday before race day at 23.59.
- The organiser has the right to extend the duration of registration.

Definitions:
- First start – participant’s first start in stage.
- Second start – participant’s second start in stage if the participant has signed up for at least one first start. The first and second start must be added on the same registration session.
- Children start – start in DCJ or DCK class.
- Virtual start – start in virtual race.
- Relay start – participation in relay race.

Registration
- Registration for EDC stages will be opened approximately two months before race day.
- Each competitor may compete for a maximum of two times at a single stage, and the competition classes have to be different.

Registration can be made:
- Internet through edc.ee, using a bank transfer or bank link;
- For following stages in race site, paying in cash.
- Online registration
- When signing up on the internet, it has to be followed that the fee is based on regulations. If wrong registration plan will be used (2. start plan instead of 1. start plan), the missing fee has to be paid to start on race.
- The participation fee must be paid immediately, but not later than on the invoice deadline.

The registration will be confirmed only after the fee is received.
- If the participation fee is delayed in late payment, the registration will be deleted from the system.
- It is obligatory to add dog data.
- Re-register
- The re-registration can be done via e-mail info@spordicom.ee until the Sunday night 23.59 one week before the race. No re-registration will be made later.
- When switching to higher fee start (e.g. 2. start will be replaced with 1. start), the missing fee has to be paid to start on race.
- When cancelling the participation, no refunds will be made.
- When the race is cancelled because of force majore no refunds will be made.

- All dogs accompanying the participant or their companions have to be healty and vaccined against rabies.

Dog age on race day has to be at least:
- 12 months in training, fun or children trail;
- 18 months in all other classes.

When participating in RNB class, the dog has to have FCI / Eesti Kennelliit breed certification.
- Dogs without breed certification will participate in open class.
- Every dog can race maximum twice on race trail.
- During stage, no dogs can be switched.
- During race day, random dog check will be made. In request of organiser, participant has to provide valid dog veterinary passport.
- Dog age is the age that the dog has on the first day of race.
- Race equipment can be shared only if it doesn't change starting queue.
- Participant has to wear running belt attached to harness at least one running line.
- The dog's harness must support the body.
- In the dark, the competitor must have a working headlight, that illuminates at least 20m, and preferably a reflectors on the dog's harness and on line.
- Wearing a helmet is mandatory in the bike classes.

Submission of protest
- Protest must be submitted in EDC online protest form within one hour after finishing but not later than ten minutes before awarding ceremony start.
- Protest submission fee is €20, which is returned only when the protest is satisfied.
- Participants have to value honest and clear sport. In races, Estonian antidoping rules are in force.
- It is allowed to start only with correct name.
- A team that fails to be in the starting position at its scheduled starting time or within half of the starting interval after the scheduled starting time shall be declared a late starting team, and shall receive a new starting time plus a time penalty of three times the starting interval in its class.
- In race site (event centre and trails) it is mandatory to follow traffic regulations, traffic regulators, traffic signs and other requests by organisers. The trails will remain open during races. The trails are not closed.
- The racing equipment (scooter, etc.) is allowed to share to a maximum of one person who does not take off in the same class, but the organisers do not guarantee the suitability of the starting times.

Trail marks
- The tracks are marked with labels corresponding to IFSS race rules. In EDC stages, the trail is marked only with signs. Only in critical places the lines and barriers are used.
- Blue square – Move directly
- Red circle – based on location of the centre of trail, turn to right or left
- Yellow triangle – More dangerous section
- To get result in virtual race it is required to pass the trail (length is specified in race info), track it with app (Endomondo, Google Fit etc), in finish make a picture of yourself and screenshot of app view where distance and time is visible, and upload the pictures to race Facebook event page.
- To get result the recording and post publishnig need to be done within the race period.
- No awards will be given in virtual race unless said otherwise.
- In virtual race EDC rules need to be followed.
- To get result in relay race all three team members must cover the trail correctly.
- There has to be three participants in team. First member will race in bikejoring on scooter, second member in scooter-1-dog and third member in canicross.
- No awards will be given in relay race unless said otherwise.
- In relay race EDC rules need to be followed.

In EDC races timing is manual or with chips.
- When using chips, the chip must be fixed to the right foot as low as possible.
- In children distance there is no timing.
- To get result, the participant has to pass full trail and has to be sure that bib number is visible and placed according to rules from start till finish.
- Both graduates in the same class and the same time can both have a higher place.
- In FUN class, no ranking is published.
- Unofficial results are published on the EDC website as soon as possible.

Until the results are confirmed, it is possible to submit reports of possible errors.
- The error messages must be presented verbally to the main organiser and at the end of the race to e-mail address info@spordicom.ee

Confirming results
- Results of the first three places will be confirmed before stage awarding.
- The remainder of the results will be confirmed within 24 hours after the final competitor is finished.
- Each competitor collects points for the completed stage.
- To obtain a seasonal result, a competitor must participate in the same class in at least four out of five physical stages.
- The seasonal point count is the sum of all five stages.
- The points are divided separately in the following competition classes: DR4, DBM, DBW, DS2, DS1O, DS1R, DCM, DCW, DCJ, DCK.

For the completed stage, the following points will be given
- 1st place – 100 points
- 2nd place – 90 points
- 3rd place – 84 points
- 4th place – 78 points
- 5th place – 74 points
- Each following place gives 2 points less.
- If held virtually, completed stage will give 60 points.
- In children distance with no timing, completed stage will give 100 points.
- In non-competitor class FUN, completed stage will give 100 points.
- When it is not possible to get result sequence, every finisher will get 60 points.

For competitors who have an equal number of points in a seasonal outcome, better place will be given to competitor who is:
- Participated in more stages,
- Or in case of both have participated in same amount of stages, got more points in final stage,
- Or in previous equal cases, more points have been obtained in the last two stages.
- Seasonal results are renewed after each stage within 72 hours. On the last stage of season, the results will be updated before awarding ceremony.
- Mails regarding to the errors in season results must be submitted during one week from the race day; in last stage before season awarding.
- At each physically held stage, the club with the highest number of participants is determined, forming the basis for the season-long club ranking. Only unique participants under the same club name are counted (multiple starts are not considered). The club with the most participants receives 30 points, and each following club receives one point less. For the season ranking, points from all stages are summed. In case of a tie in points, the ranking is determined by the number of higher placements during the season (e.g., more 1st places, then 2nd places, etc.).
- In each stage, awarding ceremony will be held after participants have finished according to the programme.
- Classes DR4, DBM, DBW, DS2, DS1O, DS1R, DCM, DCW, DCJ top threes will be awarded with diploma.
- The season awarding ceremony will be held in the final stage.
- When participant is missing the awarding, no awards nor medals will be given later.
- Every participant agrees with participation that (s)he is responsible for him-/herself and participating dogs well-being and will follow EDC and IFSS regulations fully.
- The contestant shall release the organiser, judges and other persons contributing to the contest from the responsibility for the occurrence of injuries on the trail or in the competition area.
- Every contestant is responsible for her/his own safety and safety against co-participants. While the competitors are on the track, the competitor who is not competing at that moment, or the persons accompanying him, may not be on the track with the dogs.
Loose dogs are not allowed. - All participants underage are in race site in parents or carer responsibility.
- If timing chip is given, it has to be returned before awarding. When not returned, the penalty fee is up to 150€ and the participant will be disqualified.
- When losing season bib number it is possible to replace it paying penalty fee of 5€. The new number remains a season number, the old one can no longer use.
- The contestant is obligated to be respectable to the organising team. The behaviour that is not in relation to the organiser is punishable by a written warning, a 3 minute time penalty or disqualification from the race.
- By participating in the competition, the competitor gives the organiser the right to use the images taken in public use.
- Participant is obligated to provide correct data when signing up.
- Data from domains drylandestonia.ee, edc.ee and spordicom.ee and its' subdomains is managed and secured by Spordicom MTÜ.
- Provided data will be used when organising the race and sending emails.
- Data will be saved secured unlimited time.
- Minimal data of participant will be included in public start and finish lists.

Participant can request deletion of his/her data.
- Request will be checked within one month.
- In request the participant has to identificate him-/herself.
- When deleting personal data, data in startlist and finish protocolls will remain public.
- With deleting personal data, all following registrations will be cancelled. Fees that remain unused will not refunded.
- The organiser of the series is Spordicom MTÜ, spordicom.ee, info@spordicom.ee.
- The organiser may make changes to the competition rules if necessary and it is not required to notify the competitors.
